Sandy Schuckers | Administrative Officer, Centre County Office of Aging at Centre County Government
Please join us for the fifth annual Super Fair of Centre County Resources to be held from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. on Saturday, March 23, at Nittany Mall in State College. With at least 100 vendors at this years’ Super Fair, things are bigger, better and even more SUPER than last year!
For those who haven’t heard of or attended in the past, the Super Fair is a one-stop event for all residents of Center County; all ages and needs, with information that shows the community how agencies help each other, how you can help the community, and to understand a bit more all that Centre County has to offer! Super Fair is a fun, relaxed and worthwhile event.
The Super Fair is made possible by generous sponsorships from the following:
PA Link to Aging and Disability Resources; The Centre County Gazette; Centre County Council for Human Services; Nittany Mall; CATA; Center for Community Resources; Harmony at State College; Home Nursing Agency; Juniper Communities; Wynwood House, Personal Care Homes; Centre Crest; Peerstar, LLC; and Steinbacher, Goodall & Yurchak.
In Centre County, we are fortunate to have resources, services and agencies that are committed to helping the community.
Information sessions will be held starting at 10 a.m. in the Active Adult Center located near Planet Fitness. Information sessions include presentations on Veterans Services, APPRISE (Medicare at 65), Volunteer Income Tax Assistance Program, Pen Pal Program, and Suicide Prevention Awareness.
More than 100 agencies will be represented at the event. Many of the vendors will be providing a variety of health-related screenings, giveaways and fundraisers, along with their information.
Also new for 2019 Super Fair: Donate non-perishable foods and paper products to our food drive and pet food drive! Donations are being accepted by the food drive sponsor, CATA, at their location in front of the former Bon Ton. Additionally, there will be pet adoption agencies as well as a petting zoo. There will be face painting, too!
New this year, our raffle! Prizes have been donated by various businesses such as Wegmans and Macy’s plus many, many gift baskets.
From birth to aging, in-home services to residential and living facilities, community nonprofit agencies, medical agencies, basic needs and community connections; we believe everyone will find something new about our great community. A guide provided by The Centre County Gazette will be available at the event and throughout the county as a continued annual resource.
The Super Fair Committee truly believes everyone is a super hero. Whether donating time, contributing to an agency, or simply helping someone else get the much needed assistance they need we want you to know that you are our Super Hero. On March 23rd, come meet hundreds more super heroes in our community. With so much to see and do, we look forward to meeting you at this super event! Don’t miss it!
